on Hydrosphere
Improvement in water quality & Reduction of noise
After the Covid 19, the lockdown made human activities reduce such as construction, fishing, transportation, and the number of ships operated along the coast, reducing noise caused by human activities.
In addition, as the operation of the factory was suspended, the amount of dust, harmful substances, and wastewater discharged and the concentration of pollutants flowing seawater decreased.
Increasing marine life
Because of the reduction of disturbances caused by human activities in the coastal environment, the population of coastal habitats has increased. As the stress caused by disturbance decreased, the population increased in various entities, including mangroves, seaweed, turtles, and crabs, and variety of fish and shellfish populations also increased.
In India, ‘the International Endangered Grade’, Ganges River Dolphins were observed due to improved water quality, and more pink dolphins were also found due to reduced maritime traffic and fewer tourists
